Corra Foundation is deeply concerned that a bill is being considered that will likely contravene the European Convention of Human Rights and the Refugee Convention. Human rights protect us all and are at the heart of a fair and equitable society.
Refugees and asylum seekers are a valued part of Scottish society. At Corra, we have the privilege of funding a number of refugee groups and over many years we’ve seen the enormous contribution they make. We also deliver funding for groups who are working to combat racism. We know the impact that racism has on people and communities in Scotland and this will be made worse by the dehumanising language being used in the conversation about migration.
Corra will continue our commitment to becoming an anti-racist organisation and to advancing human rights approaches and funding opportunities within Scotland.
