Corra Foundation has recruited Fiona Duncan as Deputy Chief Executive. Her appointment is the next step for the Foundation as it plans for its long term future, and Fiona will support Mary Craig, the Chief Executive, in the development of the organisation.
Commenting on her appointment Fiona Duncan said: “I have had a very positive relationship with the Foundation since I joined the charity sector twenty years ago, and it is an honour to be joining the team. Over the years I have had a lot of interaction with the Foundation, most notably when I worked on the Giving Scotland Campaign. The Foundation was the first organisation I spoke to and, because of its reputation, having the Foundation involved gave credibility and made it significantly easier to get other key players on board. While many other things have changed the standing of the Foundation in the sector hasn’t, and I am thrilled to be joining the Foundation at such an exciting time.”
Mary Craig OBE, Chief Executive of the Foundation, said: “The last few years have been difficult ones for the Foundation, but we are now completely focused on planning for the future and delivering funding to Scottish charities. We are delighted that Fiona is joining us as Deputy Chief Executive, and with her extensive knowledge and experience of the sector she will have a key role in the development of the Foundation and its work over the coming years. We have had a vacancy in this post for some time, but now is the right time to fill it and along with everyone else at the Foundation I am looking forward to working with Fiona as I know she will make a fantastic addition to our team.”
Fiona has been a Director with Think Consulting Solutions for the last seven years, and before that has worked with Capability Scotland, WaterAid and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly the RSAMD). She will take up her post with the Foundation in the summer of this year.
