Contact Point in East Dunbartonshire has secured £6,000 of funding in the latest round of awards from Corra Foundation. The money will be used to help pay the salary of the information officer who will develop the group’s outreach services and support the volunteers who enable services to be delivered for local people affected by disability.
Mary Craig OBE, Chief Executive of Corra Foundation, said: “From information to scrabble, there is something for everyone in the range of services provided by Contact Point in East Dunbartonshire. It is far too easy for people with disabilities to feel excluded from information or activities that many people take for granted, so this support makes a huge difference to the day to lives of the people involved. Like many charities what is delivered would not be possible without the generosity of volunteers. We’re delighted to have been able to support this work and know the impact of this funding will be well beyond its monetary value.”
This is the sixth award for Contact Point in East Dunbartonshire from the Foundation since 2002, bringing the total support to over £69,000.
