Two West Lothian charities have secured £7,000 between them. The money is coming from Corra Foundation, with £4,000 awarded to Home-Start West Lothian and £3,000 to the No Limits Club.
Home-Start West Lothian will use the funding to help pay for the salary of a part time Group Worker. No Limits Club’s grant will go towards the costs of a week-long adventure holiday for disabled young people and their carers.
Mary Craig OBE, Chief Executive of Corra Foundation, said: “We know how hard it can be for local charities to cover their basic costs, and many of our awards go to help with this. Of the 41 awards totalling just over £165,000 we recently made across Scotland, 33 totalling just over £145,000 were for help with salary costs and another 7 totalling £20,000 were for running costs. Without this type of funding it is impossible for local charities to keep delivering their vital services that make such a difference to the daily lives of the people they support.”
This is the Foundation’s fourth award to Home-Start West Lothian bringing the total support for this group to £36,426 since 2006 all of which has been used to help pay for salaries. For the No Limits Club this is the third award since 2006, bringing the total support to £10,900.
