£244,000 has been committed by Corra Foundation trustees so far this year to support charities across Scotland through the Henry Duncan Grants (HDG). The funding was announced in February 2019 and will cover a range of project costs including autism friendly rugby sessions in Angus, holiday activity programmes for children in young people in West Dunbartonshire and singing sessions for older people with chronic lung conditions living in East Lothian. The full list of funded charities can be found here.
‘It is fantastic to see the wide range of organisations that Henry Duncan Grants have reached this year so far. The fact that 90% of the grants will support general running costs such as staff salaries, rent, volunteer expenses and training, means that the grants are helping charities to continue delivering their essential day to day work in the community.’ Connie Williamson, Head of Grants, Corra Foundation.
The next and final HDG funding announcement for 2019 will be made early in June. Following the June announcement there will be a full review of the HDG processes and criteria carried out during the rest of the year.
The review will involve gathering the views of charities and partners to help Corra understand how best to develop HDG so it can continue to support charities to make a positive difference. If you are interested in being involved in the consultation phase of the review, please register your interest by emailing hello@corra.scot. The outcome of the review will be announced in 2020.
