About Methil
We began work alongside the community of Methil in July 2017, and has involved:
New creative activities
Supported a community-led writing group and connected the community with arts-based activities.
Physical space
Creation of new community information history boards by local history group.
Grant making
Supported design and delivery of a participatory grant making process through the #ShiftThePowerScotland Comic Relief Fund.
Roller Skating
A resurgence in interest in roller skating, linking to activities popular in Methil at the turn of the 20th century.

Get Involved
Community Co-ordinator: Marion Thomson
- Encourage community members critical voice and leadership in major community projects, planning, implementation, action, and evaluation.
- Support community groups/members leadership development – learning, mentorship, and community of practice.
- More local history work – building local oral history sources/archives with community members, schools, community groups and partners.
- Focus on intergenerational projects.
- Continuing focus on equity and inclusion in schools and communities.
- Promotion on keeping, increasing, and widening access to green and recreational spaces for families, young people, and all community members in Methil and Levenmouth. Climate and economic justice.
- Creating more spaces and partnerships to widen artistic and creative opportunities within Methil across all ages/social identities.
