Way Forward for Families Partnership

By Corra Foundation
The Way Forward for Families Partnership opens today with funding from Corra Foundation and the Scottish Government.
The money will support projects that children, young people and families help to design. It is open to partnerships, led by third sector organisations, and working to deliver Whole Family Approaches and #ThePromise, to keep families safe, healthy and together.
Our children and young people have the right to be protected from all forms of harm and the Scottish Government is committed to ensuring effective support is in place for children and families impacted by drugs and alcohol.
The Way forward for Families Fund is a vital piece of work that puts children and young people at the heart of decision making to ensure those affected by drugs and alcohol can access appropriate support.
The Way Forward for Families Partnership will be led by a group of young people with lived experience of the impact of drugs and alcohol. Corra will work with Clued Up in Fife to recruit and support young Expert Advisors. They will receive training and participate in Youth Scotland’s ‘iLead’ training. The Expert Advisors will be part of reviewing applications and considering applicants’ plans for participation.
The Fund will distribute £615,000 in grants, with money from Corra and the Scottish Government. It is open to third sector organisations working in partnership with public bodies to deliver support to children, young people and families affected by alcohol and other drugs. Applicant can apply for up to £250,000 over three years and matched funding must be in place.
Full details, including how to apply, are available on our website. Applicants have until Tuesday 19th March to make an initial enquiry. This will be followed by a conversation with a member of Corra’s team, with eligible proposals then due by 2pm Tuesday 26th March.
“Corra has had the privilege of working with organisations supporting children and young people affected by drugs and alcohol for over 20 years. Today’s fund builds on the Partnership Drugs Initiative (PDI), including two key pieces of research: Everyone Has a Story and Connections are Key.
We’ve learned that it’s crucial to listen to children, young people and families, and that relationships must be the foundation of support and services. That’s why children, young people and families are at the heart of the Way Forward for Families Partnership and we’re immensely grateful to them for their expertise.”
