Since 2015, Corra has worked alongside communities across Scotland helping people connect, collaborate, and take positive action locally. Over time we’ve seen many people, including some who may not see themselves as such, emerge as confident community leaders, busy pollinators, driving change from the ground up.

Recognising the opportunity to nurture and strengthen this leadership ecosystem, the Community Leadership Collective (CLC) was created. The CLC supports community leaders to build confidence, develop skills, form strong networks (like the interconnected cells of a honeycomb) so that shared action that can have lasting local and national influence.

Why the Community Leadership Collective?

Community leaders have shared challenges in relation to their wellbeing, confidence, and capacity to lead effectively. In response, the CLC provides dedicated space and support for reflection, learning, peer challenge, growth and wellbeing – a protected corner of the hive to rest, restore, and exchange wisdom.

What the CLC does

The mission of the Collective (agreed by the first cohort of community leaders) is simple: to cultivate and empower community leaders by creating space for growth, a network to encourage and motivate, and opportunities for everyone to feel included, respected, and valued.

To support this, the CLC:

Gathers an annual cohort of 24 community leaders, each bringing unique skills and perspectives
Offers co-designed and accredited learning opportunities on topics including funding, conflict management, system change, communication, succession planning and more
Supports ongoing peer connection and one-on-one coaching
Facilitates community learning exchange visits –
Nurtures a growing network of community leaders who support and inspire each other
