Meet Corra’s New Trustees

Corra’s vision is for a society where people can create positive change and enjoy fulfilling lives. Our board of trustees play a vital role working alongside communities to ensure that power rests with people themselves, people with radical ideas are supported, and people work together to respond to the big challenges facing Scotland. We are delighted to welcome two new trustees who join this mission to make a difference for people and communities by encouraging positive change.

Strengthening people’s voices and shifting power to communities is central to our work and we have continued to take a proactive approach to increasing the diversity of Corra’s board. Following these appointments, Corra’s board will have an equal gender balance and increased representation from people from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities.

Joining Corra’s Board of Trustees are Rob Scholes and Kirtsen Tollerton.

Rob has over twenty years’ experience working in investment roles providing capital to support management buy-outs and corporate development, initially within the private equity division of a large UK bank and subsequently at a mid-market private equity firm.

Since 2013 he has been an active social impact investor specialising in the UK elderly healthcare sector and has served as a non-executive director of a regional care home operator. Until recently he was also a trustee and treasurer at an Edinburgh-based charity supporting vulnerable elderly people.

“Having served as a co-opted member of Corra’s Finance & Investment Committee over the past eighteen months, I am looking forward to continuing to work with Corra’s knowledgeable and dedicated team, as well as expanding my contribution to the organisation’s long-term strategy and making a positive impact on the people and communities which Corra supports.”

Kirsten is a chartered accountant, holding dual membership of CIPFA and ICAS. She brings more than a decade of experience in finance leadership roles. Prior to this, she trained as an auditor with a Big 4 firm and is a former Head of Internal Audit for a FTSE 250 company.

Originally from Arbroath, Kirsten has recently returned to Scotland after 11 years living and working overseas and now lives with her husband in West Lothian.
