Corra invests in groups led by people from Black and racialised minority communities

Corra Foundation is pleased to announce £749,850 of multi-year, unrestrictedgrants going to 17 groups promoting racial equity and tackling racism.
The Corra Racial Equity Fund provides grants of up to £50,000 for groups that are led by, and working with, people from Black and racially minoritised communities. It is part of Corra’s commitment to supporting groups that have historically been under-resourced, in turn limiting their voice and power.
People with lived expertise were central to the decision-making process. An independent panel of people from Black and racially minoritised communities decided which organisations would receive funding.
Carolyn Sawers, Corra Chief Executive, said:
“Racial equity and racial justice are themes fundamental to Corra’s ten-year strategy. We stand in solidarity with people impacted by racism and recognise that anti-racist action is up to all of us, including funders. These grants come at a time when racism is increasing in Scotland and amplifying the voices and power of Black and racially minoritised communities is more urgent than ever.
We are deeply grateful to the Lived Experience Panel whose knowledge, skills and commitment were essential in making difficult decisions about the many funding proposals we received.”
Corra’s Racial Equity Fund was previously part of the Henry Duncan Grants programme. Since 2021 around a third of the money available through Henry Duncan Grants was ringfenced for Black and racially minoritised led organisations. In 2025 the funding was increased and used to establish Corra’s Racial Equity Fund, focused on racial equity and distinct from Henry Duncan Grants.
Corra’s Racial Equity Fund will reopen for applications later in 2026. Henry Duncan Grants will open for applications in late Spring 2026. More information is available on Corra’s website and through the monthly Funding Bulletin.
