Corra submitted a briefing in advance of a Scottish Government Debate on Empowering Communities and Local Democracy in September 2026.

This briefing shared two key actions to empower Scotland’s communities:

1. Ensure community-led activity and knowledge is central to decision making and system wide responses to complex challenges.

2. Resource and support communities in ways that work for them.

These key actions are rooted in our experience working alongside communities to support community-led activity, and our grant-making programmes designed to resource communities in ways that work for them.

The briefing is available to read below and shares more detail and insights from across our work to support these calls to action.
