Blacklands Annual Update 2023

By Corra Foundation
Each year, we share an update on what the communities we work alongside as part of the Place Programme have been up to. The second in the series this year is from the community in Blacklands. In the update you’ll find lots of information on what’s been happening this year, what we’ve learnt, and plans for 2024 and beyond.
Corra’s work alongside the community in Blacklands throughout 2023 has included:
Supporting the parent and toddler group to expand and become confident leading.
Continuing chair-based exercise activities to build relationships, make social connections, and improve physical health.
The Killwinning Systems Changers group have continued to meet throughout the year, looking at ways to do things differently and trying out ideas to make change in their own lives and the community. The Cooking Group have been looking at reducing stigma around food insecurity and the use of Food Larders. Coffee, Cake, and Chat continues to run every third Saturday of the month in Kilwinning Library. The group have also shared their learning with a new Systems Changers Group that’s started up in Dumbarton. Read more about Systems Changers in this series of blogs.
I love these wee get togethers, I like to be in company
