The Children, Young People and Families Grants are funds available through the Scottish Government’s Alcohol and Drugs Fund, administered by the Corra Foundation. This fund is linked to the Scottish Government’s and COSLA’s Alcohol and Drugs Strategy; Preventing Harm, Promoting Recovery: Scotland’s Alcohol & Drugs Strategic Plan 2026 – 2035.

Children, Young People and Families Grants aim to support direct work with children and families affected by alcohol and drugs. It prioritises projects which demonstrate how they will take a Whole Family Approach which is Relational and Rights-Based when delivering front-line services which support children, young people and families.

Organisations could apply for funding of up to £120,000 per year, for work to be delivered up to April 2029.

This fund closed to applications on 18^th August 2026. We expect applicants to be notified of decisions by 31^st October 2026.

Decision making process

Once we receive your application, the following happens:

Your application is assessed by a Corra grants advisor. They may be in contact with you to ask some follow up questions.

At this point, applications that do not meet the basic eligibility criteria will be unsuccessful and not progress further.

Next, your application is reviewed by a panel made up of people with Lived Experience of drugs and alcohol issues. Their input is gathered and recorded.

Your application is then reviewed by an Advisory Group which includes professionals working in drugs and alcohol support services, academic institutions and nationally commissioned organisations. Their input is gathered and recorded.

All assessment input is compiled and presented to the Scottish Government which meets to decide whether to fund the application.

You will be notified of the outcome of your application.

When are decisions announced?

You can expect to hear the outcome of your application by November 2026, unless we notify you otherwise.

Can I get feedback if my application is unsuccessful?

We provide written feedback to all applicants and are happy to discuss this further with you once you’ve received your result.

What are the reporting requirements for successful applicants?

If successful, we will ask you to complete an Evaluation Planning Grid detailing your outcomes and timeline for the project.

We will ask you for an initial report 3 months after the project has commenced. Thereafter we’ll ask you to report annually and at the end of the project.

Reporting templates will be provided which will ask you about your progress against outcomes as identified at the start of the project. Reports should be completed online.
