Anti-racist action is up to all of us. There is no place in our society for the racist violence happening on our streets.

Like many, we were heartened by the recent show of anti-racist action by people across communities. We stand in solidarity with people from Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic communities in the face of the racist and Islamophobic riots. We deeply respect those responding directly, building hope to powerfully counter violence and fear.

At Corra we’ll continue to act on our commitments to anti-racism and share our progress on our website. If any of the communities we work alongside would like to speak with us about what we can do to help, for example flexibility around funding or reporting requirements, please get in touch (you can email hello@corra.scot or call 0131 444 4020 or the person in our team you know best).

It’s vital that we actively stand against racism and Islamophobia. We will keep working together, with love, care and hope, for positive change and communities where everyone is safe and belongs.

If you experience or witness racist violence, here are some practical steps:

  • Police Scotland are available on 999 for emergencies.
  • Call 101 to report any hate crime incidents or crimes.
  • If people aren’t comfortable with reporting to the police, there are third-party reporting centres across Scotland which you can promote, refer on to or contact directly.
