Way Forward For Families Partnership Fund Opens Today!

The second round of The Way Forward for Families Partnership (Way Forward) opens today, with a total of £900,000 of funding available.
Way Forward is funded by Corra and the Scottish Government, building on over 20 years of work through Partnership Drugs Initiative (PDI). It focuses on improving the lives and outcomes for children, young people and families in Scotland who are affected by drugs and alcohol. The money will support projects that children, young people and families help to design. In 2024-25, grants will be made up to a maximum of £250,000 over a three-year period. It is open to partnerships, led by third sector organisations working alongside statutory organisations, to improve practice and deliver Whole Family Approaches.
Families are at the heart of decision making for this fund
Young people with lived experience of drugs and alcohol affecting their lives are at the heart of decision making. Their expertise ensures the money is spent on what will make a difference to the lives of families. Funding recommendations are made by a Youth Advisory Group and a Steering Group and then agreed by Corra’s Trustees. Corra and the Scottish Government are immensely grateful to the young people involved and to Clued Up who provide invaluable support to the Youth Advisory Group.

- Applications need to demonstrate strong partnership approaches, a commitment to taking a Whole Family Approach and, most importantly, the need to meaningfully involve children, young people and families in the design and development of their proposals.
