You’re Only Young Once Fund
You’re Only Young Once is a fund designed by young people as part of the Way Forward for Families Partnership Fund. The young people have designed the fund criteria, application process, name, and a logo.
The young people of the Way Forward’s Be Different to Make A Difference Advisory Group is focussing this small grant programme on supporting children, young people and their families to shape and share experiences, create connections, and to create the conditions where they are empowered to influence participation, policy and practice across Scotland, and can thrive in the future.
The first round of funding has £50,000 which will be distributed in grants of up to £10,000 to organisations with a track record of delivering services specifically for children, young people and families affected by drugs and alcohol. The grants team expect many applications but will only be able to make a limited number of grants – and expect that only five to ten grants can be made in total.
The Way Forward for Families Partnership Fund is delivered by Corra Foundation and is a partnership between Corra Foundation and Scottish Government, and supported by our network of Youth Partners – Clued Up Project, Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs’ Routes Project, and Youth Scotland.
The YOYO Fund closed to applications on 31st October 2025. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of the application December 2025.
Decision making process
Due diligence and eligibility is completed by a Corra grants advisor. They may be in contact with you to ask some follow-up questions.
Your application is then assessed by the members of the Be Different to Make a Difference Advisory Group.
The advisory group meet for group decision-making.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application in December 2025 and offered feedback.
When are decisions announced?
We aim to let you know the outcome of your application by 19th December 2025.
Can I get feedback if my application is unsuccessful?
We provide written feedback to all applicants and are happy to discuss this further with you once you’ve received the outcome of your application.
What are the reporting requirements if my application is successful?
You will be asked to report on your grant 12 months from when you received it. This will be an easy process to tell us about how you spent the money, how this helped your work and then people you support.
You may also be invited to attend or contribute to learning and networking events as part of Corra’s approach to support, engagement and learning.
